The joy of sports is universal

The Hope Arises schools organized a football tournament right after the World Cup ended. None of the boys have football boots, so they had cut off the tips of their socks to protect the ankle of their kicking foot with the sock. The rainy season has made the field muddy, but that did not diminish the joy of sports.

None of the boys have football boots, so those who can afford socks had cut off the toe ends and protected the ankle of their kicking foot with the sock.
The boys do not wear socks in their daily lives, as their basic footwear is flip-flops.
When our funding permits, Hope Arises schools will look for opportunities to organize clubs for students interested in sports, music, or the arts as extracurriculum activities.
